CONFIGURE UNLOCKED MODEM TO WORK IN DIFFERNT NETWORKS

For those who have unlocked there safaricom modems,here are the settings to make it work with the other networks. For those who haven't, you can always unlock. Follow the instructions to unlock yours here. Its simple,fast and free!!!
NETWORK PROFILE MANAGEMENT

Go to Tools>options>Profile management>

1. click 'new'
profile name:zain
click 'static'
APN:ke.celtel.com
Access No. *99#
click 'save'

2.click 'new'
profile name:safaricom
click 'static'
APN:safaricom
Access No. *99#
click 'save'

3. click 'new'
profile name:Orange Edge
click 'static'
APN:bew.orange.co.ke
Access number *99***1#
click 'save'

4.click 'new'
profile name:YU
click 'static'
APN:internet
Access No. *99#
click 'save

UNLOCK YOUR SAFARICOM MODEM(Simple)

With four mobile operating companies operating in kenya and the need for faster and reliable internet and with the tough economic times, its expensive to buy four modems...ok thats not the point. The point is some data providers are too damn expensive and slow and having locked their  modems to their networks only,its only human to unlock them. some people have made it their business to make money from kenyans, i saw it wise to pass the knowledge so that you can unlock your modem on your own.its a 2 minutes process( people normally pay ksh.500 for this.sh*t).

First you need to get your modem's unlock code. To get this you run this link:

where you enter your modem's IMEI number(check the back of your modem) after the = sign eg 

http://bb5.at/huawei.php?imei=35XXXXXXXXXXX         (cant put mine here)

When you run this in your browser you'll see something like this:

IMEI: 35XXXXXXXXXXX

Entsperren / Unlock: 3XXXXXXX
Flashen / Flash: 6XXXXXXX

Now you have your unlock code.final step is unlocking your modem. Download the card unlock software. It will take less than 20 sec(60kbs) from this link:

It doesn't require installation. Simply INSERT your huawei modem FIRST then run the program. It will recognise the modem by showing you the modem's IMEI number. In the unlock code box enter the UNLOCK code you acquired from running the first link.(N/B:enter unlock code not flash code) the click OK.
That is it. Your modem is unlocked.
